Native May Apples in Fort Bunker Hill Park
Clean-Up Day with the National Park Service
In recent years, Fort Bunker Hill Park has suffered from neglect. It has become trash-strewn and overgrown with invasive plants and vines and, as a result, and is not well-utilized or enjoyed by Brookland residents and visitors. The Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association is working with the U.S. National Park Service, the Friends of Fort Bunker Hill Park, and others to make improvements which contribute to the care, conservation, safety, and public enjoyment of the Park.

Fort Bunker Hill Park, located between Perry and Otis Streets, NE and 13th and 14th Streets, NE, is one of the Fort Circle Parks originally built to protect the nation's capital during the Civil War. These forts remain as "windows into the past", but also offer great potential for recreational and educational experiences today.
