Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association

n Saturday, April 14, 2011, over 60 people

braved the weather to apply their collective skill and muscle to the planting of 5 oaks, 5 black gums, and 8 serviceberry trees on the grounds of Turkey Thicket Recreation Center. These trees will grow to provide much needed shade in the summer and will add beauty to the neighborhood all year round. A heartfelt thanks to Mary Pat Rowan, Jo Moore, the Greater Brookland Garden Club, and Casey Trees for organizing this community effort and to all the volunteers who helped make it happen!
